A Comprehensive Comparative Analysis of Energetic and Exergetic Performance of Different Solar-Based Organic Rankine Cycles

In this work, a comprehensive energetic and exergetic comparative assessment is presented for the simple solar organic Rankine cycle (SORC), regenerative (RORC), dual-loop (DORC), considering parameters such as net power produced, exergy destruction, exergy, energy efficiency in four zones located Colombia due to their high irradiation potential. The balances were applied each system component, using toluene working fluid. RORC showed 2% increase over SORC, while DORC was lower than SORC (45.85%) (46.90%) systems. Finally, analysis, results revealed that (5.3%) (5.2%) systems had highest compared Additionally, destruction (89%) related collector, followed by evaporators (1–2%), pumps (0.1%), turbines (1.12%).
